Around Plainfaing
Plainfaing is located on the border of the Alsace and the Vosges. The village lies at an eleration of 550 meters. The closest cities are Gérardmer and Colmar. A little further away are Nancy and Strasbourg.

In the winter time you will be at the ski slopes in 10-15 minutes. Famous names are the Col du Bonhomme and the Hohneck. But you might want to stay home in the chalet and sit by the fire with some hot 'glue wine'.

Walk around the forests for hours or visit the many small villages in the Vosges or in the Alsace region. You might want to visit some local farmers to buy cheese, honey or wine .

The bureau of Tourism de Plainfaing organises walking trips on a regular bases.
Famous is the "Route des crêtes". ( a trip around the mountains of theVosges) You can do it by car or on your motorcycle.
